The rational but elegant redesign of a trading floor
The largest independent investment bank in Latin America opened a trading branch in Geneva. To assist their development, the World Trade Center building was chosen, because of its location near the airport. The floor areas of this 1980’s building were reworked to today’s office standards.
A rational yet elegant layout with no frills was desired by the Client, which also provided them with a large open plan trading floor.
The wooden door finishes and certain wall coverings in Noce Canaletto give punctual touches of warmth to the design, as a reflection of the Brazilian rainforest.
The existing lighting installation, composed of glass blocks typical to construction in the 1980’s, was re-equipped with LED technology, reducing the electrical consumption four fold.
A technical room, containing everything needed for contemporary computer installation in terms of fibre optics and redundancy, was specially equipped for their servers with a potential for growth.
